The role of the committee is to:-

    1.     Stimulate the interest of the community in all aspects of Geographical Heritage, including historical
            incidents, events and people, places or natural features worthy of note within or relevant to South Australia.
   
    2.      Act as a liaison and advisory service or research body in disseminating the resources of the Society to
            individuals, Government Departments or other organisations engaged in the pursuit of 1 above.

    3.     Promote, organise, undertake or direct the placing, building or construction of monuments, buildings,
            plaques, statues, pictures, memorials or records of any kind or description marking, recording or
            perpetuating any facts, circumstances, particulars or details of historical or geographical interest.

New members are always wanted.  The knowledge and skills that each person brings to the committee to achieve its objectives is welcome and in return it offers companionship, enjoyment and the satisfaction from contributing to the ongoing development and promotion of South Australia's geographical heritage.  Skills required - a passion for South Australian geography and history, plus a creative outlook.
