Membership

Membership of the Society gives access to the Society's magnificent library, including borrowing rights (excluding rare books and highly valuable items).

Members receive copies of the annual "South Australian Geographical Journal"  They also receive the bi-monthly in-house newsletter "GeoNews" and are entitled to discounts on many of the Society's other publications. Members may bring friends along to the Society's lecture programme and functions.

The RGSSA provides an environment of friendship, activity and interest. By joining the Society, your subscription and active participation assists in the important cause of advancing geographical knowledge and awareness in a world where need for understanding of our physical and social environment has never been greater.

Councils and Committees of the Society

The Council is the effective management group of the Society with the specific activities and collections managed by the Committees made up of members who are interested in the particular aspects of what we do. The committees look after the following areas:


Positions on the Council and Committees are open to any member and a Council Nomination Form is attached.

Volunteering

The Society relies heavily on its volunteers to keep it an active and viable organisation.  Any member who has time or skills to contribute is most welcome and greatly appreciated.  To establish a clear basis for using volunteers the Council has created two documents which describe the responsibilities of both parties.
